Suddenly I WANTED to be on that subscriber list, specially when the salesman told me it was included with specific benefits, such as early notice on your own shopping service, new arrivals, and private trunk shows.
And you know what? I’d have even paid-to participate that – to be viewed as a VIP.
You see, people DESIRE to be part of some thing specific like ezine advertising. The example above was free. But don’t underestimate how much your customers or clients will PROBABLY PAY to achieve that, sometimes.
Example: A pal of mine recently discussed he gives $15,000.00 annually to participate in the President’s Club of a local playhouse, despite the fact that he and his wife might attend each show there for $150.00. Why would a good faithful attendee wish to spend 100 times more? Specific treatment like favorite sitting, valet parking, invites to VIP functions, individual cafe for members only, networking using a high level of men and women, etc.
Yet another friend of mine gives for membership at a private bar in La through to Sunset Blvd. For several of the exact same reasons (but moreso, in my opinion, as it impresses his days ; ).
My marketing mentor Dan Kennedy taught me there is a portion of virtually EVERY client or client group or industry who’ll happily pay FAR above regular prices for status, convenience, and specific treatment.
I call it ‘nation clubbing’ your business. Why be the driving range with an hourly fee when you can be the elegant six-figure account club outside? You can provide both naturally, but take a look at what’ll skyrocket your organization FASTER, with less deals and higher quality clients.

I share this never to impress you, but to impress upon you that in YOUR market (yes, *yours*) there’s a portion of folks who will gladly pay MORE – much more – for an increased degree of support or treatment.
